Despite Abbotsford receiving 10 times more rain in two days on the weekend than it did for the entire month of July, a sprinkling ban in the city will not be lifted until Aug. 31.
Parched lawns, which received a miniscule 1.2 millimetres of
precipitation in July, got 8.7 mm of rain on Saturday and another 1.4 mm Sunday.
More rain was forecast for Monday night and Tuesday morning. But sun and high temperatures of 25 to 29 C are expected for later this week and into the weekend during the Abbotsford Airshow.
