Downtown Abby turns in to Santra Cruz, CA.....

I was flipping through the Abbotsford News yesterday and right on the front page it shows a CHRISTMAS movie being filmed for the Lifetime Movie Network called ON STRIKE FOR CHRISTMAS with actress Daphne Zuniga, which was based on a book.
If Daphne's name doesn't ring a bell, think old school Melrose Place. She played Jo Reynolds.  She also played Alex P Keaton's girlfriend on Family Ties.  If you watch Nip & Tuck she was in season 5.  Also played on One Tree Hill and played Princess Vespa on Spaceballs the movie.
picture found on google images.
Anyways they turned downtown Abbotsford on Montrose Avenue into a small American town of Santa Cruz.  The crew was due to wrap up shooting the movie as of yesterday.
How exciting is this for Abbotsford?
Be sure an look for this movie at Christmas on the Lifetime Movie Network if you get it. Word is this movie will be shot entirely in BC.
In past years there has been anywhere from 15-20 movies shot in Abbotsford such as Disney's Space Buddies and Scary Movie 4.
Abbotsford has hosted a lot of A&W commercials as well.
Our lil city is making a name for itself besides being BC's 5th largest city & a great farming community.
Go Abbotsford!
