The Abbotsford School District will receive four of 106 new green school buses announced by the province Thursday, which will be going to 31 districts.
Three are 72-passenger buses while the fourth carries 30, and are worth $434,000. The total cost in B.C. is $12.5 million for the diesel buses the province says will reduce exhaust particulate by 90 per cent compared to the previous 1994 standard. Diesel buses also produce 30 to 60 per cent better mileage than those powered by gasoline.
